Children in Need coffee morning

Here’s Phyllis and Margie who were enjoying a hot drink and a slice of delicious cake this morning at the Children in Need fund raising event organised by the Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council at their offices in Upton.

I was dashing past on my way to collect my dry cleaning from Upton Home Hardware when I was accosted by one of the ladies from the offices who did so much to make this morning a huge success.

These include Karen the Town Clerk, Sandra the admin assistant and Barbara the office manager who were ably assisted by Joyce, seen here guarding the tea urn. There were others who were far too busy serving customers to tell me their names so well done ladies on all your hard work.

Also in attendance was a number of our community representatives. Here’s Councillor Holmes (right) and Vice Chairman, John Small. John used to be Chairman but told me he’d stepped down, preferring vice. Behave yourself John!

Also present was Councillor Burns who wants Upton Eyes and the Beacon Project to form an alliance – more of this in future posts.

Finally, here’s the Pudsy cake made locally by The Cakery. Thanks to them for their donation and thanks to everyone who supported Children in Need.

I hope you made lots of money!
